At some point I'm sure we all come across the picky eater. It's a phase.....right....please tell me it's a phase. I'm not really gonna feed my child KD, or hotdogs, or pancakes forever....right? What you thought your child liked just a few days ago becomes like kriptonite to them. "Ewww, I don't like that"
The child chooses to starve themselves then eat whatever you slaved over trying your best to balance meat, veggies, etc into a complete meal of healthiness (yes, healthiness is a real word)
Day after day your child refuses anything that resembles something you deem healthy. For my child......it's hotdogs. I now hate hotdogs. So then I become torn between standing my ground and putting the 'gross' food infront of them hoping they will give in and try some......or....giving in because another hotdog is better then surviving off air.
I used to think I would be the mom who would cook only one meal and as my mother would say....like it or lump it. Can someone tell me what that actually means? I get it, like it or leave it right?? But if I force my child to eat what's prepared even if they dislike it, is that a good thing? Or giving in for a few weeks, months....please let the hotdog phase end....soon.....better knowing that at least they are eating something.
It's a tough choice to make, and each of us I'm sure is torn between the choices we have......and the endless opinions others offer as well. But believe that whatever choice you decide is best for you and your child. Don't doubt yourself, or ridicule either. Hotdogs will be the next "Ewwww....I don't like this"
