Ever since I had my first daughter I knew that being a mom was very important to me. I have the chance to stay at home with them and do my best to raise them into being strong independent people who care for others and themselves.
I have two beautiful girls who I adore and would give anything to keep safe. Kathleen is 5 and Avery who just turned 3. I also have a few step children ages 10, 23, and 25. I'm not shy about my age....but I wont share it either. I had my children after I had all the fun of being young and partying was over. Settling down to have children was a decision I had in my later 20's.
My eldest daughter was one of those.....laid back kind of kids. I took her out to restaurants, she ate what was on her place without too much of a fuss. She has a love for the 'other foods' that some might find odd for a young child, for example: Marmite, and REALLY old cheddar. We would do lots of crafts involving glue, tissue paper, scissors, etc. and she loved it. When she was pushing turning 2 we decided to have another child. Kathleen was excited and welcomed her baby sister with open arms and protective big sister love.
Now....let me tell you about Avery. I love her so much, and everyday she makes me laugh with her comments and little quirks. She was a busy kid from the beginning. She sometimes wouldn't settle down after a midnight feeding without being rocked....for a long time. Its almost like she's been on the move since the beginning and if she couldn't keep moving on her own, she'd get you to keep her moving. She's the kind of kid who decides to try the glue to see what it tastes like, even if you said not to. Or the kid who climbs on top of the kitchen table while you bend down to pick up a toy, lightening speed for a one and a half year old. She wants to experience to world all at once, but not always with your help, and she has no fear of what may come from her adventures.
