There is nothing worse then being witness to your child gettig hurt. Although I can deal with blood, bruses and scrapes it gives me this funny butterfly feeling in the pit of my stomach when I think of my child getting one or cleaning the cut.
My youngest did a trip over her own feet while running in the house and crashed head first into the corner of the cupboard. Screaming ensued followed by a large goose egg and a stripe of a bruise down her forehead. The bruising draining caused a black/purple/green eye too. She liked showing it off too. A sign of don't run in the house badge.
My eldest has had her share of scrapes. Some from tripping and falling while at recess at school. Some were pretty gruesome. But the one I dread the most is coming up.....and I have to admit that I'm paying for it to be done........a baby tooth extraction.
Her molar is attached to the jaw and will never fall out. It's actually going to be covered by gums soon and then crowding of the adjoining teeth will happen if we don't have it pulled and a bridge spacer put in its place. This is something I've never head of, maybe it's due to my immediate family not having this type of issue, but apparently it's not all that uncommon either.
Besides my wisdom teeth, I didn't need teeth pulled. I even had braces when I was 14. Wisdom teeth was a horrible experience to go through. I had all 4 done at the same time under general anesthetic. It was days before I felt normal and not popping pills for the pain.
I worry for my daughter and this tooth pulling coming up. She's the drama queen in the family and this isn't going to go over well. I'll be there for the entire procedure of course to talk her through it and reassure my almost 6 yr old it's all ok and will be over soon. I have to say I'm super thankful for my mothers offer of help with my youngest during this time so I can concentrate on my little drama queen and make sure she gets what she needs. Sometimes it's just a few extra hugs that's needed.
Hello JELL-O, juice and ice cream. Looks like I'm stalking up on you soon.
